2012 Grand Cherokee Wrong Low Beam Headlamps

192 Views 4 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  desertRatt
I was replacing the low beam headlamps and found a 3157 bulb. The correct bulb is supposed to be either H11 or D1S bulb. The info I have found notes that the 3157R is a brake light bulb.

Also my connectors are not angled (90 deg) as shown in most replacement sites.

Note sure what to believe. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Isn’t the 3157 for day running lights.
This webpage notes that the 3157 bulb is used for the brake light on the 2012 Grand Cherokee. I should have either H11 or the D1S bulb for my low beam. None of this makes any sense.

Thanks for your post.
Do some research, I think you’ll find the factory HID headlamps need a low power bulb for DRL hence the 3157 in the earlier WK2 and LED strips in the later ones.
Thanks. I appreciate the info.
