I’m very very new to the Jeep world but I’ve been shade tree for some time. I’m picking up an 05’ Limited with 135k that dropped a valve seat and made a mess of a cylinder. I’m wondering if you guys can tell me what 5.7s may swap or if I have to stay Jeep specific etc? Also, any common issues parts wise I should replace or upgrade while the motor is out? The wife thinks I’m looking at this as a possible flip(belongs to a good friends father) but I’ll have a hard time letting go of a hemi powered GC....

Bell housing bolt pattern and motor mount bracket pad holes should be the same. Used to be a difference the way the crank was machined on the flywheel/flexplate area depending if AT or MT but that was back in the LA, B/RB days.. You will have to swap accessories, manifolds, and sensors most likely. Hope this helps.
