Wife's Grand has rear wiper problem, motor appeared to be dead so I bought one from Autozone. R&R the motor( in the rain no less), it don't work After playing around with the connecter it seems that if you partially plug it in it will work, thought the plug was bad so I painstakingly dissasssembled the plug and plugged the wires on without the moldex plug--nothing.
Checked voltages after reassembling the plug, have one wire hot any time key is on( I presume this is for park), and another wire goes hot only when the switch is turned to on position. This appears to me to be correct for a wiper setup. Any ideas as to what is happening? Is it possibly the switch/delay box? rear lift gate ajar switch has been suggested but I would presume that since it turns the light off that it is functioning correctly, ? maybe? maybe not.

check the ground path. The circuit ground may be through the motor casing, or there may be a separate ground wire( I am not sure). When you check, wiggle the wire to check for intermittent open.

If OK, listen if the motor is trying to move. Maybe the wiper is snagged on something.
Good luck.

The actual connectors may need to be tightened. The female part of the connector may not be making contact with the male part. Try disassembling the connector again and tightening them slightly with needlenose pliers, then slide them onto their respective blade and see if they are tight.

Good luck.

My rear wipers are not functional as well.... the funny thing is if I leave them on while im driveing (they normally wont come on) occasionally I will see them sporadically come on every once in while. Its probably just a loose connection somewhere.
