I have '95 Lmtd that im plannin on doing a F>R. I dont have any xtra weight upfront other that the blower(~30#'s).
Who makes the best springs? Was thinking of 3.5" Teras
Was planning on 32X11.5X15 on 15x8 w 4.75 B.S. - Could I get 33's in there? I dont mind cutting.
 
do a search on f<r swaps. you'll find loads of info, pics, results, etc.

Question on your 242 swap. I have a 242 I bought from a '00 Dodge Durango so its minus the 2WD option (or maybe just locked out - need to split it open) and its going in soon. What did you have to do to make it work?

never heard of a 242 minus the 2wd option. that was the main reason i switched to the 242. 249s only had 4wd high and low selections.


i bought mine from a guy in NY that guaranteed it to bolt up and it actually did. the input shaft is the only diff in the 242s from what i have read. just do a search b/c there is lots of info on that also. cherokeekid even posted a webpage about it.

One of the options in '00 on the Durango was Full time 4wd, but it is stamped the same as a normal 242 and it has the locked 4hi & lo (unlike the 249) I think there might just be something limiting it like a pin or different interal control lever that is not allowing 2wd. Tail shaft is 2" longer and a much bigger ~Ø1.8" spline.
Will check into the cherokeekid info.
