Hello everyone!
I just bought my first GC, my second Jeep, first was a 78 CJ 7. So far I love this thing! It's a 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4, 4.0l 185000 miI got it for $600.00 with a blown motor. Head cracked and #3 cyl wasted. Bought a slightly used long block + for $495.00, and now I have an awesome running Jeep! So far I changed the lighter and radio surrounds to the woodgrain panels and rebuilt the a/c sys. Also added a remote car starter and cleaned her up nice! Future upgrades include window tint, DVD stereo, mpg and power upgrades, and a slight suspension lift. First I still have to fix the right rear window motor and the air bag light, and bank 2 sensor 2. But other than that excellent truck!

I forgot to mention. The guy who sold me the jeep had just bought it five days earlier and brought it the the house to rub it in my face. Cause he knew I was looking for one! He bought it with the check engine light on and didn't bother to check the issue till #3 piston came almost out of the block!
I figured the air bag light was the clock spring, as my radio controls sometimes go haywire as well. My big problem is the O2 sensors. I keep coding for sensor 2 bank 2. I changed it out this weekend and still have the same heater code! Next weekend I'm gonna start looking for a broken wire in the harness.....behind the valve cover mabey? Unfournnetly all the O2 sensors use the same color wiring, and I don't know which two words are for the heater, and which two are for the sensor.

So as luck would have it, my A/c compressor shut off on the way home from work. I traced it to a short behind the altinator. Now I think that is where my o2 sensor short is as well! Once the rain stops I will search that out too!

Went to the yard today and pulled a clock spring from an 04 Cherokee and installed it in my 00. Works great, no more beeping or air bag light! Yay!

First you have to disconnect the battery and let the truck sit for at least 1/2 hr. to let the airbag discharge. Then another 45 mins to disassemble and reassemble your truck. The key is getting the right steering wheel puller. You need a small, but tough two jaw puller to pull the wheel. You can't use the old standard steering wheel puller. I'll post a pic of the puller I used if nessesary.

Got my new steering stabilizer today, a Procomp ES2000. Installed it and no more death wobble! Also had my front windows tinted. Not only does it match the rest of the windows, but the inside colors are pretty close too! It almost looks factory! http://i1350.photobucket.com/albums/p778/Bettisco/20130805_161415_zpsc92c5e76.jpg Now to deal with my radiator and windshield. Both cracked in the recent heatwave. It runs 210 deg on the highway at 70mph, even on a 100 degree day! But it is still loosing coolant.

Great weekend! Finally got under my GC. 55 mph vibration cured! I found my CV boots torn. Cleaned them out and repacked them with grease and resealed them ( temp repair). Radiator leak temp fix, epoxy in the crack, holding for now. New windshield next week!

Wicked fun! I was curious as to how my Jeep would be in the snow. Well not anymore! We just got our first snow of the season. It's not much, but it is icy. Around the corner from my house is a major road with a steep hill about 3 miles long. On this hill cars and trucks were sliding and stuck in both directions. 2wd and 4wd. My Jeep just walked up the hill weaving in and out of stuck vehicles. I shifted into 4wd abiut a 1/3 of the way up, just to keep the *** from sliding out on me. Awesome!

So I'm driving home from work at 1:00am on the highway at 70, when I started to hear a wicked thump, followed by the death wobble from hell. I was able to get her stopped on the shoulder only to find 1 loose lug on my right steer tire. There was three lugs broken, 1 loose, and 1 missing. I was able to jack her up, tighten the loose lug, and install one from another tire to get home. The next day I installed new hubs on the front. Then yesterday I put new tires and rims on my truck. Magicly my front brake pulsation, that I had since getting my truck, disappeared! I thought the pulsation was from warped rotors, but I guess it was bad hubs. Who knew!
