Im gonna run the full traction long arm set up and im also installing a high pinion d30. Are the mounting brackets different from the XJ d30 to the ZJ d30?
How sure are you
How is that a newbie question if no one can give me a real answer... cuz ive heard different.sounds like you're building a nice jeep but your questions belong inthe newbie section![]()
Guy, you are starting to ask a lot of questions that have been covered hundreds of times on many forums, and it's "because". Yes the brackets are the same, except the XJ hp30 will not allow for caster adjustment, so you will either need new brackets or just a competent alignment shop that can adjust caster by adjusting the control arms. And do not waste your money on the Full Traction lift, they are junk for the price you pay. For that kind of green you can buy a nice long-arm lift that you will end up having to install anyway when all of your factory brackets start ripping off the frame. How is that a newbie question if no one can give me a real answer... cuz ive heard different.
Ok guy, so what your trying to say with that smart comment is that everyone knows this fact?? And are you also saying that you can adjust the caster on a ZJ with the low pinion d30 cuz i doubt that... i know what im doing. I just asked a simple question and wanted a desent answer/ explanation. There are these interesting looking bolts with weird washers that go through your lower control arm brackets on the lp30 axle that are for adjusting your caster, the hp30 DOES NOT have this adjustment. I have likely forgotten more about Jeeps than most folks will ever learn, so you can either listen and learn or keep up the crappy attitude and miss out, good luck!Ok guy, so what your trying to say with that smart comment is that everyone knows this fact?? Poly bushings have nothing to do with your caster.alright guy.... i know about xj and i just bought this zj... and the lowers on mine are fixed with poly bushings and no caster bolts. So thanks for returning the attitude.
Buy this and never worry about a thing http://www.claytonoffroad.com/product_info.php?cPath=20_54&products_id=119About the full traction LA.. its junk because the LA is bad or is it because the unibody needs to be strenghtened?
Teraflex no longer sells the long arm upgrade for ZJ's, not enough interest in them so they dropped it from their lineup. I'm friends with the guy who actually designed and built them but he no longer works for Teraflex, that may also be a contributing factor as to why they no longer sell them. Thanks for the info...i know what caster bolts are and what the do and i didnt say the poly bushings had anything to do with the caster. But for some reason mine doesnt have caster bolts. Weird..
So claytons the way to go huh.... i honestly dont want to run radius arms. But thats pretty much what everyone builds. Do you know why the teraflex LA system only has the lower front and rear arms
Pretty strong opinion you have there. However, it seems that we are talking about a Long Arm kit here. Not a short arm kit that uses factory mounts. Do you have any experience with our Long Arm system for the 93-98 ZJ that you can share with us here that might help everyone understand why our system is "JUNK"?And do not waste your money on the Full Traction lift, they are junk for the price you pay. Finally a Full-Traction rep. It's July 2012. Just curious if Full-Traction are still building this Setup. Just my experience, back in July 2010, I waited 3 months to order the Part: FTS7402 Fits: 1993-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ from 4wheelparts, Only to find out that you guys either scrap the project. The good part, I'm happy with my Rubicon LA. The bad part, Full-Traction never delivered and was not honest upfront to at-least inform 4wheelparts Manhattan. JUst my experience I want to share..Pretty strong opinion you have there. However, it seems that we are talking about a Long Arm kit here. Not a short arm kit that uses factory mounts.
