I just got a got a 1994 Grand Cherokee with a 5.2 V8, and the check engine light is on. One of the errors I'm getting is a code 32, which refers to the EGR valve. I've looked all over the engine, and I just can not find it, and I'm starting to think that the previous owner may have removed it. There is a small metal cover that doesn't look like it belongs on the engine, and I think it was made to cover the hole where the EGR mounts to the intake manifold. It is located on the back of the intake, and to the right(passenger side) of the distributer. Am I right in assuming that this is where the EGR should be located? If I am right, does anybody have a schematic of how the vacuum lines connect?

Thanks,
Rob

Well, unfortunatly I was right to believe the EGR valve was missing. I went out yesterday bought and installed one(They are not cheap:(). I also needed to change the routing of some of the vacuum lines. But when all was done, and the Jeep was started, the dreaded "check engine" light was off. Thanks for the help!!

The EGR system was deleted in the '96-'98 ZJ models I believe. If the engine was from a donor that might explain why it was not there.
