So I know a lot of questions have been asked about this, I have searched endlessly and cant seem to find the answer. I have a 98 5.9 and when its 100 outside my temp gague starts climbing. not terrible, but enough to worry me.
Question is what temp am I getting to?? the furthest I have let the gauge get to is the next mark past the 210, but how hot is this? I would think about 225 or so, but I'm just not sure.
Only happens on the highway. wheeling or city it runs at or below 210. Heres what I have done so far. Hanson winch bumper modded to lower the winch to not block the grill. thermostat, water pump, 2 different new rads (currently running the 1 row all aluminum 1.5" core) Placed wind deflector under bumper to force air up toward lower radiator, Changed coolant at least 5 times, rad flush a few times, quick and 6 hour versions, water wetter.
Fans are working fine. Seems to me to be a radiator size/air flow problem. I realize that the winch and bumper dont help things much, but with everything else I have done, its running cooler that stock.
Any place besides Ron Davis for a larger aluminum radiator? I just cant spend 650 on a radiator.
Sorry for the basic questions, but I am getting really tired of this heating up.
Thanks
Bill
