So I gave in and took my zj off the road in favor of a land rover disco because, well, the jeep is getting up there in miles and gets god awful gas mileage and ride quality.
I currently run 33x12.50 with an arb in the front and now nothing but the stock metal bumper in the back; and would like to start trimming the fenders to fit 35's. I was wondering if anyone has pictures or suggestions on said trimming and what to look for.

notes: I have previously trimmed my rear wheel well in order to fit the 33's with only 4.5" of lift so those are already started

going to move to rims that push the tires out much more than the original track because I have no worries as far as street legality goes.

Glad to see you took the ZJ off. As for the mpg, I'm not even sure what that is anymore ;) You got any shots of your ZJ, and there's a few people here that have cut quite a bit into their jeeps, how much are you willing to trim?

heres how i trimmed to fit my 35's. pretty common method.

where in mass are you from?

Why is this in the "your jeep grand cherokee" section. This is a topic for the tech center, maybe someone can move it. Try and follow the guidelines for what is to be posted where.

First sorry for posting in wrong forum, have not been here in about 3 years and the description for this sub-forum was as close as I could come to what I thought was going on. Second, I am in western mass mostly but occasionally visit the rents in central mass, and that is where my jeep is now. Thirdly, I do not mind trimming vast amounts as long as there is some fender left. This is the best image I could get because most of my pics are actual developed pictures.

Well it sounds like you need to invest in a digital camera, get back to your Jeep and wheel the piss out of her! I would like to see more of her, what setup are you running?

i have been through marlboro three times in the last two weeks getting my land rover fixed, bought and registered. Played soccer against your high school way back when also. Currently running RE 4.5 coil in the front, 3.5 coils in the back with an inch spacer(got them for a steal), RE arms all around um kevins front trac-bar drop and ORGS front and rear trac-bar. kevins sliders, arb front bumper(no winch  ) lalala loc-right rear open front. dents in every panel but the tailgate, taking sway bars out all together. 33" trXus MTS, cragar soft 8 wheels.

and last but not least stock axles*GASP*. which leads me to my next thought; I do believe I am going to stay with 33's and just try to get the most flex I can. The setup has been very good, and very fun and I am already pushing it, apparently, with the axles. Although I have never broke a friggin thing and there has been hammering down a fair amount.

I MISS WHEELING! broke my control arm mount driving home from college last year and then fuel pump went getting it in the garage, but I have a friend who is super money at fabricating and works on jeeps so my fixes are real simple, just needed to get some time and money to put into her.

Also gotta take my sliders off and sand-blast/repaint. then paint the cladding black and I will be happy...maybe.

We should get a New England trail ride going...

i'm game!
i'm out in somerville, just north of the city, my brother and all my friends are in stoughton, by brockton, on the south shore.

i'm wicked busy all the time, but have been itching to get out and wheel again.

whaddya say we finish this over in the new england/northeast board, huh?

Im still a bit confused why your title is "Finally Not Streetable" when your rig seems more than capable for street use? Am I missing something here, either way, cool rig man

because I no longer NEED it to be on the street, where most of the wear and tear was accumulating on it. Pretty much have a good idea of what I am going to do now from DMNO166 pics.
