I understand though. I started with a ZJ, thus they are my favorites (I think).
Yeah, I started with an XJ...but those are definitely NOT my favorites lol
I had an 86 Cherokee. Had a blast in it but would never buy another XJ pre 91. I do miss my XJ though :-|

Alright these pictures have nothing to do with my ZJ. I was just going through my old files on my comp and came across them....BUT they do have to do with me. SO since this is my thread, I'm gonna post 'em .

Old XJ (I had a choice to either start the exo on it, or go wheelin....I chose wheelin and came EXTREMELY close to needing the exo)

Best water crossing picture ever!

My old XJ right before I sold it

Alright, so I finally got to working on the ZJ.....I dropped it about 2.5"...maybe even 3". I also built a new drag-link and tie-rod since the stock ones don't hold up to my wheelin' style and 37's I guess. Anyways here are the pics.

Changing the coils out
Image

This is with the coils MoabZJ gave me along with 2" CR Spacers....I think it dropped it a bit too much
Image

Then I figured out what I could do to make everything sit at the perfect height...here are the coils I had to choose from side-by-side (the rear ones MoabZJ gave me are a bit too small) The far left is my RK 7" front coil, the middle is my RK 7" rear coil, and the far right is I believe a RE 3.5" front coil.
Image

I ended up using my RK 7" rear coil up front, and the RE 3.5" front coil in the rear...here is the end product and I am very happy with the height now.

Then I moved on to the tie-rod and drag-link...left is the stock tie-rod, right is my bad-ass new tie-rod that I made.

Finished product

The drag-link I had on there first was .120 wall....not thick enough....the new one is solid stock :)

That's all the pics for now. I'm building a new cross-member and t-case skid right now, as well as installing a winch.

Looks good.. I like the lower stance, but prob wouldn't be kind to your fenders...
Yeah, I liked the lowest stance too for the stability point...and I'm sure I could run bump stops so it doesn't bother the fenders, but I didn't like my unibody height with it that low.

Before with 9.5" and 37's my unibody height was 26-1/8", the lowest stance it was at 21-3/4", and the height I kept it at is 23-1/2".

It looks good. I love high lift jacks. I need to build some rails so I have a lifting point...

Don't know about the DOM flexing more over solid stock. I have read though that DOM is stronger then solid. However, I really don't see that being an issue with that much bigger of a tie rod.

Looks to be a little more "stout". But one question.... Why solid stock instead of DOM? I heard that solid stock tends to break quicker than DOM because DOM flexes better?
The drag-link that was on there was .120 wall DOM (forgot to mention that). Plus I get solid stock for $2 every 5ft....kinda had some sitting around and didn't care to go buy DOM. IF I bend these, I'll do DOM, but I HIGHLY doubt I'll bend this shiat.
