was fine untill I had the trans flushed ( if you remember I had a radiator leak the tranny fluid into the water and visa versa) only when it sits for about 4 to 6 hours when I first start it and put it into gear it takes about 15 to 20 seconds to fully engage. after that its fine. am I missing somthing? I had jiffy lube flush it and they used reg tranny fluid and added the modifier. would that make a diffrence or could it be something else. tranny only has 15000 miles. never had this problem befor.

Ive checked it and its full. after the flush machene was out they added two or three quarts. Im thinking there wasent enough friction mod. added. they only added one can I think

Sometimes those flush machines actually do more harm than good. Let me just make sure we are on the same page. You checked the fluid level on flat ground, engine running, and in nuetral, right? I'm not calling you an idiot, i'm just verifying the procedure. If that all checked out, i'd find out what fluid was put in (mopar?) and then think about getting some more modifier or getting Lucas no slip additive.

yes checked as you described. full!!! they used out of bulk and added the mod. bottle. I stoped at murrys auto and the bottle of mod. is only good for 1 oz per quart. the biggest they had is 10 ozs so that would mean that they should of added more it holds more than 10 quarts. right?

Based in my experience with mopar cars if you have never changed the oil. Don't do it until it needs a repair.
This is because the internal parts know how to work with the vicosity of your existing oil.

In your case you had a mixture of water and oil so that can cause a lot of damage on the soft parts. Drive it that way for a couple of days then you need to make another flush. Sometimes it gets expensive because the amount of oil that needs.

Trust me on this one....had same probs after the frush and fill.....go to your local auto parts store and pick up a quart of "Lucas" additive for trannies slide it in and drive it about 20 mile to "mix it in" and All will be wel. Trust me

Well, MOPAR is apparently very touchy on what fluid touches the clutch discs in the Automatics. The modifier is to replace any friction material that was lost when the fluid was flushed. Kind of like the difference between plain dish soap and dish soap with comet in it. One is more abrasive and thereby has more holding power.

yeah use the Lucas... I have been through 5 Transmissions... TRUST ME..... if you dont regularly service your transmission......... Dont start now.... use the mopar trans fluid it is way better.... and add an external trany radiator.....and when you replace your transmission dont use the old tranny cooler because those keep alot of the debris in them...

just my .02 I could be all wrong hence how many transmissions i've been through...
But I abuse my jeep....
