Hey [smilie=1zj2 (1).gif] guys,

maybe this should be in the "Lets go on a trail run" thread cause I have ZERO authority to declare a Grand Slam, BUT....

I really wanna start something for Labor Day 2007 in Eastern Washington up in Manastash.... Yes, I understand that's a long ways away from now, but I'm sure others could agree that a good run has to be planned in advanced.

The weekend would involve trail runs on Sat and Sun of that weekend. We would obviously be camping on Friday night and on Saturday. Trails I had "in mind" and that are totally up for discussion are....

Saturday... Kaner Flats - Manastash Ridge - Shoestring - Tripod - Funny/Moon Rocks - 4W607 down to camp in Manastash

Sunday... Frost Mtn... Manastash Ridge - Shoestring - The New Shoestring - Tipover - Tripod - Funny/Moon Rocks... the rest could be left up in the air.

I'm just throwing this out there to all of you. Yes, there are more trails around WA State than just the plethera of trails in Manastash. We could skip over to Liberty as well. However, this run should satisfy most of the varying ability of ZJ's of NAGCA in WA (during that time of year)... even the new guys with a 2"BB and 31's.

For those of you who are not familiar with the area it has a lot to offer, and although it is in Eastern Washington it truely won't be too much of a burden of a commute for those of you in Western WA. To give you guys an idea you can access this area through Naches via Hwy410, or Cle-elum via I90.

Well guys, gimme some feedback....

you know i'm down bud. give me a time and a place and i'll be there! hopefully we could get a nice turn out. i'm sure this saturday is going to be a blast so i'm certain a longer trip would be even that more fun!

I'm in. I'll start keeping an eye out here too.

Im down... hopefully by then ill have some tow hooks and be locked.

well, if your buddy can hook me up with the bumper then i wont even worry about the front hooks, but i think vinny said he had some extra ones. so maybe he can sell me his. [smilie=bal_ask.gif]

don't get Rusty's tow hooks. i don't know if centralgrand told ya about his experience with them. KOR i heard were alot better. all one cohesive unit instead of 2 stand alot pieces
RUSTY'S STUFF IS JUNK... Sorry but I've had trouble w/ 2 out of three things I've bought from him. My TC Skid has held up quite well with a thrashing, but the intake system and tow hooks [smilie=censored.gif] suck guys. I would ask around first here about a product you might consider buying prior to dropping a dime. Plus, when I had a quick question about my TC skid he (it was Rusty) was an AHOLE... Just an FYI

Just posting in on an old thread to express great interest in a Grand Slam Event this year. Labor day? Or should we settle on a weekend that will not cause a problem for people who may already have plans. Come on guys. There has to be enough of us who want to make this happen.

Some odd emoticons to lure on lookers with ZJs. ;)

How about two or three days of wheelin across some of the best trails Washington has to offer? Isn't that what has happened in the past?

agreed^

was only pushing liberty cuz it has better camping (creeks/river) and is closer. Both offer challenging trails.
How about Rimrock? Might give me an excuse to fab up some rock rails.
Also, you probably wont be able to have fires up there in august or september. Nor will the greenmachine be able to attend with my girl due in late august. Would like to see it happen though, i read the post from last year's and guess it never happened. If our little WA group who wheeled on Memorial day could all make it, plus a couple more, seems like that would be a decent Grand slam. well thats enough outa me...
CentralGrand should be here soon to tell us all how it's goin down :p

Was it only three times? hmmm, seems like more. You're a blast from the past. More money, eh? I'll bet.

Well guys, I was gonna volunteer to put it on, but had given up. If you guys are still interested, I'd be happy to start it up again. How about late Oct or Nov? I'm thinking maybe even snow... [smilie=bal_ask.gif] I'm not doing it without Greenmachine, cause I need someone to give $hit to on the trail  Lemme know guys... we can have a big bash w/ lotsa rigs or we can keep it small and cover more ground... you guys lemme know... figure it out amongst you guys... I vote eastern WA, Manastash or Liberty? Some oct and nov rain and a lil snow may be a blast.

yeah just cruising around tonight and thought i would stop by. still have a jeep, just my comanche on 31" at's that i use for hauling the mountain bikes to the top of the mountain. though we do have some vw's that can drain the wallet at times. we should get together sometime Jay!

hmm. a little dusting of snow would make for some sweet pics, and would kinda distiguish the NW Grand slam from some of the other ones.
liberty trails shut down after oct. 15, right? so manashtash would have my vote if its late october/early november. some rain and snow would keep the dust down nicely up there so camping would be better.
I think anyone interested should vote up on where to go, and get this thing rollin. I could provide all the meat for a saturday dinner, and haul up my weber gas grill. Sort of a business expense, for those who may be interested in hiring me in the future ;) Where's NW grand?

I'm definitely in for a Grand Slam, even if we just run those easy eastern Washington trails  . If I can do anything to help set this up let me know.
