When it gets cold, I'm saying in the teens or less, my throttle sticks. No that's not right, the throttle only goes about 1/4 the way down. From that point I have to push pretty hard to get it to go any further. Afterwards everything is OK. Will I damage somthing? And what does the cold affect to create this problem???

I would start off by checking for blockages or binding of any kind, then if that isnt it, try lubricating the throttle cable with graphite powder or spray like Perma-Slick. See what that does for you.

There is no easy way to get graphite into the cable if it comes to that. I have also heard of people runnign a wax candle along the wire inside the cable as well, but once again,t he only way to really get at it is to take the cable off.

Thanks for the suggestion,, I know that the cable can be ruled out because when I grab the throttle and give it a twist I still get the binding. It's almost as if there is a limiter on the throttle that's built into the body. Honestly I've lived with it, so it's not a big concern.

LOL, is that suppose to be cold? I would have to say the Jeeps up here must be built stronger. All week, the Jeep has been starting at minus 20's. LOL. Now that's cold!!!

re; dosen't like the cold

Ok, mister 94laredo in Canada, I realize that there's colder places than Ohio. So the scoffing is uneccassary. To angelous, thank you I'll get up there and scope things out.

Geez, I apologize for my sense of humour. Just tried a little humour! :!:

Doesn't the throttle in turn pull on the tranny kick down? If so, could it be cold enough that the tranny won't allow the throttle to move? (pressure in the trans) Just a thought anyways.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll let you know what pans out. I haven't had much time here lately, I've been drivin' a salt truck. And notice there's no reference to our 'big' storm... don't want to give anyone the opportunity to brag about how crappy the weather is somwhere else!! Seriously though,, I didn't mean to be short tempered.
