No! Those 4 bolt just attach the door to the other half of the hing the bolt to adjust the door are on the backside of the hing that mounts to the body.

First thing to get disconnected is the elect.connector. Then I used a set of jack stands to support the door while I removed the 4 bolts that hold the hinge together. After that just use some sawhorses or a table, a ladder is helpful because of the mirror, and a blanket of some sort. Just take your time grinding. My jeep is my baby (the wife hates that) so I can be very cautious when doing this kind of work.

Are the hinges on the WJ welded as well? Mine are dropping and I'd rather do the job sooner than later. Thanks for any input!

Dont buy those ebay pins. You can get them for like 5 bucks out of the help department rack at autozone or advanced auto. If you rip the hinge from the sheetmetal just prop it back to where it should be with a jack and weld some bolts around the hinge.

I had a body shop replace mine on the driver door. They did the cut/weld trick and it was only about 125 beans.

All I can say folks, is if the door pin and bushings are going bad, replace them as soon as possible. For ZJ folks, any parts store that carries Dorman Help series parts can order Part Number 38422...

I was HOPING to put this off another couple months, but Monday morning, I couldn't get the driver's door to close... Long story short, the worn bushings finally let go completely. There is more play in the pin than ever, NO broken welds either. BUT!!!!! On the door where the Latch is bolted to, 2 of the 3 screws have cracked and allowed the catch to shift enough to not grab the catch in the doorjamb.

I ordered the parts last night, should be here tomorrow. I'm off Friday so the bulk of the work will be done then, and a XJ buddy of mine will weld the cracks for me on Saturday.

I was hoping as I said, to do this when it was warmer, so I could drive around during that weekend with the doors off. I guess I'll save that for my Ranger for the whole summer... Lucky for me, I have a garage to secure the Jeep in, even if the wife's Supercrew is stuck outdoors...
