heater fan

Does anyone know if the heater motor on 02 WJ is actually multi speed unit or if the speed is just controlled by by the fan switch( the more current the faster the speed)? Last night the lower settings quit working. I now have only the top two available.

Blower motor

The blower motor is a single speed unit. The speeds are controlled on the ground side of the motor through the switch and blower resistor. Probably a bad blower resistor. All bets are off if it an ATC unit. They use an electronic module.

The blower motor resistor is located under the glove box and can be removed from the passenger compartment. There is a couple of electrical connectors going to it, cheap simple

thanks I'll give it a try it seems to be working today but would rateher replace now and not have it totally quit
