I know that the GC will roll in the 93-95, but has anyone verified if it will do this also in the 96 up? People have mentioned that the T-case is different, 50/50, locked front to rear, etc...

i have the quadratrac II (247)my front shaft went out at about 140,000 miles. now with 190,000 i havn't had any problems with it. The only thing that feels funny sometimes is going from a complete stop it takes a second to catch up. Like the front outputshaft on the t-case is spinning. i was suppose to get a shaft last week but didn't. i'll inform you guys when i get one on to see if there is any problems there being "not enough pressure" on the case.

The 96-98 249 is only locked in low range.

I have my driveshaft removed from my 94 v8 but likes to roll on me when I put it in park. Just make a habit of using your e-brake allot, It prevents it from rolling down a hill while your not watching.

I have a 98 & have been running without my front for 3 years with no problems (other then right rear tire wear)

stfu if you dont know the answer

With 249 it will wear down the VC fast causing premature damage

With front DS out the VC will slowly unbind after a few hours...then it will NOT hold you jeep in park...you will have to have Ebrake on when in park...

hopefully you didnt listen to the first two noobs and you jeep didnt roll down a hill

STFU?

Come on 2000_WJ, that's a little uncalled for. There is a TON of info available right here on this site that indicates there's nothing wrong with removing the front DS on a 98 249. An earlier model (93 through 95) may have had issues but this individual has clearly stated that his is a 98. As far as knowing what other individuals are talking about, perhaps you'd be better served yielding to those with real world experience in such matters with similar models as to what this individual has. Like I said, mine has been out for over a year, approximately 32,000 miles and I park on a steep driveway every single night. No problems. Nothing at all.

For your own edification I'll provide this link...

No need to apologize, I already know you are sorry.

Think perhaps YOU should STFU?
