the Jeep just died . I took down the DTC`s off of the dash , here`s what I got...

12 - battery recently unhooked ?
35-fault in fan relay circuit
76-Fuel pump resistor by-pass relay circuit
55- codes complete

where the hell is my fuel pump resistor ??
The jeep was running fine , I shut it off and it wouldn`t start, the fuel pump isn`t coming on but the relay is clicking....any ideas ????

I put another fuel pump in it 2 weeks ago, also an EEC (PCM) . the relay is clicking but the pump doesn`t come on . Before I replaced the EEC I had no click at all from the relay. Once I changed the EEC everything worked fine...until today. It could be a fuel pump , I never had time to bypass the F/P relay ,not to mention I was kinda pissed about ruining the kids halloween trip and leaving the Jeep at a friends house :-x

I just can`t understand what code 76 means . Did the fuel pump draw too much of a load and kill the circuit ?

9 times outta 10 code 76 means you got a bad bypass relay. its the single relay next to you coolant over flow bottle. its not in the relay box with the others.

after you unhook your battery, your engine light can come on, its telling you that in the last 20 times youv started the engine, the battery has come undone, nothing to worry about if you know you unhooked your battery..if you havent recently..then there is a problem

All Electrical Connections

johnny,
I recently went through a similar problem with my '97GC; look for my other threads and replies including similar topics.
Most important, disassemble and clean every electrical connection including grounds using a quality quick dry electric contact cleaner and conditioner the reassemble using di-electric silicone grease.
By all, I mean even the multi-pin connectors going to the PCM; this is where I isolated a troublesome stalling condition. There were TSB's issued for these particular connections.
