When it comes to the aftermarket spark systems, there is one thing that you need to be aware of.

A stock system has more than enough juice to push the current through the cap and wires and then jump the gap on the spark plug.

The main thing that is needed is for the gap on the spark plug to be jumped and that will ignite your air/fuel mixture. Having a higher level coil means nothing if you don't need it.

The reason you may need it would only be in the case that more air/fuel is thrown into the cylinder and needs a hotter spark (more current) to ignite it. If you have a stock motor, then you are buying a product that is only really being used to half of its ability and taking money from your wallet. That's pretty much it.
