I replaced my thermostat and my clutch fan, and flushed the radiator. If I am stuck in traffic going really slow, the engine starts to heat up. It also heats up when I climb up a long hill on the highway. Does anyone have an idea why it's overheating?

Did you put the proper mix of water and antifreeze in the radiator? And did you check if there was any crap built up between your condensor and radiator? That would decrease flow of air to the radiator. Other than that, there are only so many parts to a cooling system.

when u flushed the radiator. did u flush the block as well? if not, there are 2 plugs. 1 on each side of the block. it made a huge difference when i flushed my 5.2.... also, check and make sure your bypass hose isn't swollen when it overheats. (under your a/c compressor) all in all, your water pump could be going bad. check the weep hole. i'm trying. good luck

It’s normal for temp. to bee higher ( 200-210* ) in conditions you described, especially if ambient temp. is high and A/C on. If you have more than 215* and rad. is flushed and well washed from outside ( condenser too ), try to change radiator cap.
