So I believe that my VC is toast. I want to confirm it by removing the front drive shaft. I looked under there last night and the method to remove the front DS was not obvious to me.

It would appear that I will have a lttle stub shaft sticking out of the front diff and a circular collar left sticking out of the t-case.

Do I remove the 4 or 6 (can't recall exactly) small bolts on each end and drop it out?

I looked at it closely last night and there are 4 bolts on the t-case end of the DS holding the DS to the yoke. I just want to confirm that once these four bolts are removed I simply slide the DS towards the front to clear the crossmember then pull the front end of the DS off the splines? This will leave a short shaft sticking out of the front axle?

Thanks for your help!

oh hell.....you might as well remove all 10

no you don't pull it off the spline. you remove the 6 bolts that hold the CV into the front yoke and pull the entire shaft.
