best intake??

Iam looking to get a new air intake but was curious to which one to get.... i use my jeep on and off-road if that makes a difference.... curious to which one everyone recommends? Any suggestions would be great... thanks.

There are some decent looking ones on E-Bay for around $50. They come with K&N filters too. The only thing they lack is a good heat/splash shield.

I had a Volant which was OK,it cost me over 200$ a few years ago.Now I have a Newer Jeep and I'm thinking a Chrome AEM,w/the No Oil Filter is looking good to me right about now for $282 delivered.

I have got the MOPAR aka Kand N filter on my 5.2 it has done really good for me so far no complaints i am thinking about selling it soon because i am going to go with a snorkel pretty soon

i'm running the AirRaid Jr. Intake and the sheild is good. I didn't get the whole intake (the pipe) and i'm kinda kickin myself now about it (xtra 100 bux). I don't run i very deep water, but would give similar protection as the factory box. They aren't cheap, but supposedly they have a better filter than K&N [smilie=bal_ask.gif] . It works good, but get the whole intake system w/a sheild. My .02

If you have the money, K&N FIPK. I got it for my 5.2L, and never looked back. But it depends. If you like deep water, get a snorkel. If you want the space for onboard air or a second battery, then go turbocity or ebay has a bunch of smaller stuff. The reason people get good performance has next to nothing to do with replacing the box filter. The stock tube that sits on top your throttlebody is whats restricting airflow.

If anyone claims to be better than the K&N FIPK, ask for a third party dyno test first =)

My borthers 98 zj runs that intake. He plugged off the old airbox and made it a storage box!
