Anybody from around the Charlotte area? In about 3 weeks, I will have my t-case, lift, skids, tow hooks, wheels and tires on and will be ready to wheel my ZJ for the first time (used to wheel a lot with my BlaZeR2 but, the ZJ is going to kick it's rearend! :p ). Can't remember when Uwharrie opens back up for the season but I definately want to go up there again (have only gotten to go once before). I only know a handfull of other wheelers around here (a big Tahoe that is retired until it gets a Dana 60/corporate 14 bolt and hummer rims and tires, a '95 Orvis ZJ with 31" mudders, another ZJ (think 95?) who we are trying to get to go wheeling, a 2000 wrangler on 35's, an '85 s-blazer on 31's, and a crazy guy with a 2wd Dakota and no fear! ) Mine will have 4.5 in lift 33x10.5 (I think) and hopefully a rear Aussie locker. CAN'T WAIT TO WHEEL IT!

Finally, a response! Uwharrie is a great time, I can't wait 'til they open, for other trails though, I dunno. It's hard to find stuff like they have in other states all the 4x4 parks and all. We usually end up running whatever somebody knows somebody that knows somebody that knows a trail can come up with (you know how it goes). I am thinking about joining one of the local 4x4 clubs (like C.O.R.E., I had a friend that used to be a member of them but moved to Arizona). I am at a stall point right now though, I just bought this new ZJ ('96 new to me) and am waiting on parts/installation before I can 'wheel (probably about 2.5 more weeks). I used to have two other 4x4's but, I sold them (I haven't gone wheeling with a truck of my own for like 7 months). I am sorry that I can't be of more help but, once I start wheeling again, maybe I can find some (and maybe some club people know some). We ought to plan a trip to Uwharrie! I think I could get like 5 vehicles and who knows how many people (I know a lot of people who love the idea of 'wheeling but have no truck! :p My ZJ ought to just be getting ready to roll right before Uwharrie opens. I'm not sure how far of a drive it is for you, but Tellico is open year round and is one of the best wheeling spots in the southeast. Good camping at Crawford's or there are several hotels in nearby Murphy.

Sounds like a good idea! I don't think it is a hideously long distance. Once I get the ZJ all together, I may just look into into heading up there. Do they have ranked trails, like difficulty/needed modifications listings? [smilie=bal_thanx.gif]

ZJx95, What is DPG? Where is Thomasville? I don't go out of Charlotte, Concord, Pineville areas much. Not that I am unwilling to  , just that's where I spend most of my time, I am up for going wheeling pretty much anywhere I can get to once my ZJ is ready (still waiting on parts  ). Uwharrie is always a good time and not far from Charlotte. I am in Winston Salem and is under an hour drive for me.

Let me know what day(s) and I'd like to join in.... [smilie=1zj2 (1).gif]

Also the GrandSlam Southeast is in the beginning of August in Tellico which should be fun as I've never been to one yet.

Yeah, I can't wait to go to Uwharrie! I wish I could go to the Grand slam but, I am going to welding school out west for 6 months starting in July. But, til then, I am here in Charlotte and I can't wait to go wheeling once my ZJ is out of the shop (friday!). [smilie=bal_cool.gif]
