Hi Folks,

I found this in another group, did not see anything in NAGCA and wanted to share on how to get rid of your yellow headlights.

Instructions: Wet sand you headlights, starting with 600 grit paper, then move to 1500, and finally 2000. After the lights dry, buff with Meguiar's Clear Plastic Cleaner #17, and finish with Meguiar's Clear Plastic Polish #10.

So, if you're tired of yellow lights, just wet sand it. It's simple, takes and hour or two, and the results are amazing (I've seen some pictures).

Cheers,

T

i sell and have used the meguiars products and they work great, and theyre only like 6 bucks a bottle. I didnt think to wet sand but i may try that next, they did a good job clearing up the yellow without sanding, but theyre arent like new clear...ill try that, thanks

Try to sand/buff the same amount off of entire headlight surface, otherwise the 'Lense' focus is changed some. They will work much better after sanding and polishing anyway!!

I'm saving to get E-lights myself, but they are expensive... About $270 for the pair!! http://rigidsteel.com/y65pC4tIGk0.html

I've heard the only problem is that the seal between the lense and reflector sometimes leaks and can ruin reflector. Some say to reseal them before installing.

I went straight to 2000 grit then used some cheapo turtle wax rubbing compound then switched to their buffing compound. Crystal clear. Lasts about a year then its piss colored again. I'd rather just buy new lenses than spend the 1 or 2 hours rubbing and polishing
