Here's the partlist:

Chrome intake for civic/integra @ autozone $29.99
highflow airfilter @autozone $24.99 for colored, $19.99 for chrome.
oil breather filter @ autozone $7.99-11.99

Step one is remove all existing factory air intake parts.
Remove the rubber L shape hose from the TB and cut it where it first expands on the first ring of the expansion. Remove the rubber reducer flange that came with the intake and toss it. Attach the air fliter to the proper end of the new intake and tighten down. At the other end attach the cut end of the L hose to the pipe but don't tighten. Fit it on the TB and rotate it for best position. Use the supplied vaccum hose to connect from the nipple on the intake to the plastic hose that comes off the drivers side fender. Leave the other nipple capped. Install the oil breather to the L nipple coming off the valve cover. You might want to pick up a Y vaccum adapter to splice into the hose running to the fender. I don't think the oil breather will pass the visual part of an inspection.
Good Luck

On a side note, if someone can email me on how to post pics from my camera, I'll include them. I'm not computer literate yet, but hoping one day

i was lookin at that same filter at autozone, though the same thing.

Can't use those if you are in a state with smog laws..

In California, they wont touch our rigs for smog, unless we have the CARB-ODE stickers on them...

only ones with those are turbo city and kn

But why can't you use the cheap intake and once a year spend 20 mins and convert back to the stock box to pass?

do you have any more pics of how its attached to teh TB?

So all you did was take off all the original intake all the way to the TB, and then the civic intake screws on? or does it need a connector? then just placed it where u wanted and put on the intkae.

the heatshield how did u make that

sorry marley, I never got a notice of another post. You'll use the stock rubber elbow to attach the 2. You'll need to cut it at the first or second rib closest to the TB. If you look at it you'll understand. The heatshield was made out of something called sturdyboard. However due to the high humdity, and lot's of rain this isn't working anymore. The bottom is crumbling from the weight of the tube causing my throttle cable to hit the rubber elbow at WOT. I'm currently working on something else. Either plywood with insu attached, or plastic. I'll have new pics when I'm finished, and trust me, it'll be cheap. Silverback, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't fit on a wj or the V8's for that matter. I refuse to pay $250 for a fipk that gets me 10hp when I can build on for $60 that gets me 8 :nono:

There was a study done that indicates that those cheap filters flow and filter terribly, wreaking havoc on your engine. Good idea using the civic tube, we use that on our MR2s since they don't make an intake for us, but the ones we get at shucks are $50 and they are made of aluminum, not chrome. Are you sure that is chrome plated, or just polished?

As far as the filter gos, I would spend the extra $20 and get a K&N that will last forever. Just my $0.02 :D

Hey, would you post the P/N of the intake tube you bought? I can only find those for 49.99 @ schucks, if they're cheaper elsewhere I'd like to know.

Also, if you don't need that reducer you 'tossed', could I get you to mail it to me (I'll pay shipping of course)? I need some of those for a project I'm doing, and they're hard to find seperately. If anybody else does that mod and doesn't need those reducers, please let me know.
