Id do 4.88s with he V8, that was my original plan. Doesnt rev all that high IMO and it sure feels peppy. 4.56s and the 4.0 definitly does dog it, especially at high elevation.GoingOffRoading said:I don't know RPM range but if you have the v-8 go with 4.56 or if you have the 4.0 get 4.88s. I have the 4.0 and I'm kinda doggin it with 4.56s.
I'm hoping you're not talking about 5.13's in a 30/35 combo turning those 37's...roadhouse66 said:Thanks for the replies. I do have the 4.0L. Right now I have 4.56's with 265/75r16(32's) and run about 2500rpm at 70mph. I thought about 5:13's because I really want 37's, but might just settle for 4.88's. Checking online calculators...looks like 5.13's would put me at about the same rpms I'm at now with 4.56's, but 4.88's would close to stock.
No, I'm talking about D44/9".....MattsZJ said:I'm hoping you're not talking about 5.13's in a 30/35 combo turning those 37's...roadhouse66 said:Thanks for the replies. I do have the 4.0L. I think the shafts and/or u-joints will go well before the 44's ring/gear does. That said, I personally think 5.13s are just to much for the 44. But I have a V8 and live on the west coast...roadhouse66 said:What type of wheelin' to blow your rear D44? Rocks are my guess?
Our terrain here is pretty mild no rocks, just mud and sand. I'm not to scared of the 9", 44 I have thought about, but will run it any and see what happens.
Swamp Boy said:I am currently running 4:11's and 35's and I have no problem getting up to speed.. I run about 2750 at 70.. Not that big a deal... I have the 4:56's ready to go in just havent had time..
Anyway.. I 5th the 4:88's for 35's ..Also wouldnt put the 5:13's in the 44.. You may rev a little high and maybe dog a little but the pinion gets awefull small with gears that steep...![]()
