Default P0123 help

Hey everyone, I have a 00’ wj with the 4.0L. The other day I decided to pressure wash the engine bay with it running, and my rpm’s went up to around 1800. I turned it off and checked everything out but found nothing. I started it back up and it idled fine but the check engine light came on. I checked that with my scan tool and got a p0123 code for the TPS. While waiting on a new one, I drove it on the highway and it won’t shift into 4th. My question is will a new sensor hopefully fix my issues? Any help would be appreciated.
