Default Grand Slam Texas Interest Poll

I haven't been on this board for long, but already I've read lots of interest in a Grand Slam Texas, and I have to aggree that GSTX should be next on the list. I haven't been wheeling for very long myself, so I personally don't know where the best trails in Texas are. I'll help get the ball rolling as much as I can, but what we need is someone who is willing to step up and help me organize this bad boy. I think the first step should be finding out who all might be interested.

So... chime in with your ideas. If you're in or near Texas, if you consider yourself an organizer, or an experienced trail leader, or if you just know someone who is- by all means take control! I'll help you out in any way I can.

So... who all's on board?

There's already enough struggling "grand slams"

If you start a new one at every corner of each state, they're not so "grand" anymore.

Get in your jeep and DRIVE to one.

Good point about watering down the impact by creating too many events.

Personally though, my work schedule makes it difficult for me to get away for a trip to a different state. If there was a closer event that I could do as a day trip, it would be awesome, and I'm sure there are others in the same situation. If we get GSTX going and it takes off, awesome- if nothing comes of it... oh well. No one's really hurt.

Either way, maybe someday I'll be able to make it to one of the other Grand Slam events.

Sounds awesome. I have been trying to get one started for some time.

TX is its own country anyways.... Plus it is too far to get to any of the GS's.

I am in..

Just post something in the "Let's Go on a Trail run" section and just see what happens.

Pick a place and date but don't call it a Grand Slam and you will be okay.

bulldog - great idea, thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to work on getting a texas Grand Cherokee event together- not a "Grand Slam" at first, but if it's a success, we'll work on graduating it into a Grand Slam event.
