I will be driving and it will either backfire and die or just die and wont start till I relieve some fuel pressure from fuel rail I put new cap and rotor plugs and wires and it ran good for a few days and back to running like crap again I'm at a loss on what to do replace or do

could well be Crank position sensor failing or the ignition switch is breaking contact
![]() Could also be worth checking the main power and earth points for corrosion |

I know I can pull my ignition out of the steering column so I'm gonna lean towards that lol

Replace the battery. Low volts caises very weird things to our Jeeps.

just as an update try a new coil pack
![]() My 96 4.0 limited started doing this over the weekend and the coil pack is dying. tried a spare I got of a scrapped car and it runs fine, so have ordered a new coil pack up ![]() |

The first thing that comes to mind when you say you have to relieve fuel pressure is the gas cap. Is it the correct one for your rig?
