I would check the column switch and connector...

I would check the column switch and connector plug for damage/bad contact and also I think the switches are prong to breaking the solder joints to the connector plug.

they have a governor and shift solenoids and both cause shift faults. could not tell you which one is which but also the 42re is oil fussy and will only work with AT4 or its equivalent.

to fit the larger tyres you may need to trim the front bumper cowling to give clearance when going on a lock :)
