Drop Out Of Cruise Control

I have a cruise control event that I have NOT found any info in the forum's search. I hope someone can point me to the right direction. So thanks in advance for any assist.

I have an '07 GC 4.7L. Last night at 75 mph under cruise control for about 3 hrs, all of a sudden, the cruise control disengaged, the rpm jumped about 1K, and the transmission felt like it downshifted. I do not recall accidentally hitting the shifter to the ( - ) position or stepped on the brake.

I pulled over and with a flashlight, took a brief look under the vehicle and found nothing. No fluid. Nothing hanging loose. Nothing jammed anywhere.

I reentered the interstate and resumed my trip under cruise control. Turned off the radio and listened for any unusual noises. Nothing happened all the way home.

Does this have anything to do with that recall that required a transmission module memory reflash? It was done.

Roderick
