i was about to install my front speakers, but i noticed there is no easy way to get the wire to the front door using an existing path since the stock wiring harness blocks the use of the black protective tube. Should i drill a new hole in the door? If so what should i use to protect the wiring?

Are you running the speakers from another amp why arent you using the existing wires that you cut from the old speakers

you dont run existing wires if your looking to get qualitly out of a aftermarket amp. neways i drilled a 5/16? i think hole in the door below where the rubber boot is. i ran the wire thru the rubber in the door and sliced a small notch with a razor and fed the wire thru. then i placed a rubber grommet from home depot in the hole i drilled and then fed the wire thru. so the wire goes from the kick, into the doors rubber boot, thru a slit in the rubber boot, thru the bushing and hole drilled in the door and then connect to the speaker with necessary connectors. the rear doors i got the wire thru with no drilling.

The only time you need to run new speaker wire is if the existing are damaged or your running more than one speaker. The factory wiring is perfectly fine. Trust me you won't tell the difference in running new ones. You just end up screwing up your doors. I'm a mobile electronics installer and have been for 3+ yrs. I know what I'm talking about.

Sorry to steal this thread but a question for Stereofreak81.
So if I run an 8 or ten guage wire to my speakers there is
no benefit as opposed to just using the factory speaker wire [smilie=bal_ask.gif].
If so, then why do they recommend/sell monster cable etc?
Thanks.

High Wattage you say.
How high wattage will factory speaker wire sustain and still
deliver clear sound?

Thanks for the replys
