Now… a couple of days after I finished it hit me. What about the PCV hose?… darn… You see, around a year ago I had installed an external filter to the PCV hose after I had problems with the original FIPK filter to TB intake tube. I rig the original ZJ Clean air hose to fit the KN filter but missing the extra connector for the PCV thing I was forced to install a small filter. At that time I didn’t want to puncture the KN or the hose for installing the coupling for the PCV hose; now I sort of feel the same. Anyways, I did purchase a brass fitting and some extra hose to drill into the filter base for this but as of the moment of this writing I am still debating if doing it.

Some caveats:

-         You will need a reciprocating saw for making the side hole for the snorkel to air system connection (well, it is easier with one)

-         The aluminum brackets were cut from pieces purchased at home depot. I also used all stainless steel screws, nuts and locking nuts.

-         Check and double-check the kit template holes if you are going to use it. I ended making a new template out of a large piece of cardboard and in my case it worked ok.

-         Regarding the snorkel intake cap piece, I screw two small ˝ inch metal screws through it (one on each side) in addition of  using the provided clamp to hold it in place. The screws help by making more secure its attachment to the neck of the snorkel and keep it from loosing its orientation (it won’t rotate).

Ok… that’s it. I want to thank Kerr for his pioneering work and fortuitous finding which inspired me to do this.

Con mis mejores deseos de Paz Profunda…
