Default axle/hi-po parts

I currently own a94 zj limited with the pimp package (otherwise known as the gold package) and a fabbed up dual exhaust, with rancho rsx shocks. I'm looking at selling mine and buying a 96 limited minus the pimp package with some custom wheels and 29" tires on it, and a kolak exhaust. This is going to be a street beast, because my parents wont let me lift it :-(. I plan on adding an FIPK II. I'm torn between a mopar or jet stage 2 chip and an MSD ignition.. which will give me more power/better acceleration? Which would you take? Since i'm only 16, i'm fairly new at all this car stuff. i'm definitely an enthusiast, but i've never been able to figure out gears/axles. How can i go faster is basically what i want to know? is there any speed/acceleration stowed away in axle/gearing selection? Sorry for the long post, but thanks guys

Do you want to go faster or quicker? Faster is to able to go 140mph instead of 120mph. Quicker is to get to a certain speed in 9.99 seconds instead of 12.8 seconds. Quicker is for stop light racing since you will never get to 120 between stop lights.
If you go with and MSD ignition make sure to get the complete kit not just the blaster coil (get the ign box also). I tried running just the blaster coil on my 5.2 97 Dakota and at exactly 80mph the engine computer fried.....twice. The coil was backfeeding the computer through the coil driver circuit and burned it up (the computer board). This was after a tech call to MSD asking if I needed anything special and they said no, they recommend the ign box but that I didn't needed. Cost me $1000 in computers to find out they were wrong and all they would do is credit me the coil. Even after that I still like MSD products. I would also go with the Mopar computer.
As for going quicker the smaller diameter the tire you have the quicker you will be as long as you don't spin them.

the most basic thing to get go fast is tire upgrade, gets tires that STICK to the pavement, other than that it is really guess and go,

my advice is that, if you have the money, toss a supercharger on it

Default thanks

thanks for the info guys.. yeah i want to go quicker. And i wish i had enough money for a supercharger... but unfortunately that isn't the case. any other ideas? also i'm wondering why they don't make an under-drive pulley system for the ZJ, when's that happening??!

As far as I know they do make an underdrive pulley kit for it. I assume this because several years ago (4) I put on one on a 94 Dakota with the magnum v8 5.2L. This was a motor the we also had built for street dragging for the customer (actually we sent it out for him and reinstalled it). He dumped about 3-4K into the motor including head & intake work etc... He had a problem with the underdrive pulleys not spinning the alt. fast enough at idle that the alt wouldn't put charge unless you revved it then let it idle. Before you ask I don't remember where he got the pulley but I thought it might be Marsh stuff.

How much money you got to spend? That determines what you can do.
