Default lifting my zj

ok i am in the process of doing a f/r swap and using either ranger 4" lift springs or 79 bronco spring for the new front springs...but they are all the same height....the zj has 9 wraps and the fords have 11 wraps each.is this going to lift it or do i need to figure something else out? its a 5.2 zj....
here are the springs.....

You're also gonna have a whole lotta "show" and not a lot of "go" with those springs in the front (meaning little to NO flex offroad and a really REALLY stiff ride on the road). They're a much different spring rate, and a lot of XJ guys have done the same kind of thing only to change it later. Plus...with a set of coils around 100 bucks kinda hard to justify the "negative vs cheap" factor with "junk yard" springs.

It doesn't look like the bronco springs will fit in the spring pocket. Have you checked to see if it would fit?

Any action shots of this thing going through it's paces? And one persons opinion on a "good" ride and yours could be very different.

But, more power to ya if you've found a good combo. There is just a lot of information out there to support doing away with springs not made for your ZJ. If you think about it...all those extra winds on the spring taking up the same space are going to make for much less "performance" out of the spring.

Well that's why the F>R swap is such a good thing. If you don't like it, you can just buy a set of coils from a number or manufactures and be done for a while (if you've got longer shocks, lines, T-bar, and such taken care of already). It makes for a great way to "build" your rig over time with minimal cost out of the gate.

I have serious doubts as to how much articulation the front of that fellas ZJ has. Stock ZJ coils are in the neighborhood of 265lbs/in for a spring rate. By my calculations the Bronc/Ranger springs are 465ish lbs/in. So WAYYY to stiff to get a decent ride or performance out of.
