Default driving long distance

so as the sig says, I have a 97 5.2, 7" LA and 35's... this summer I was planning on visiting family in ohio, about 650 miles one way, plus local driving and the drive home.

I will probably have some crazy gearing by then 4.56 or 4.88's

so i was wondering what people think about driving distances like that with their rigs?

there is some minor wheeling I was going to do out there, nothing too big since i need to get home at somepoint, so assuming I am lucky enough to not break anything major will I be stupid to make the trip?

I dont speed, typically I do under 70 the entire time, and I would be traveling light, me and one other person, small bag each and my normal tools that i carry around so i would be all weighted out... dont know if that would matter at all but figured I'd throw it out there...

And this is all assuming that the jeep is running is good shape to begin with... even with out the lift and tires if she wasnt healthy i wouldnt be taking it anyway... but if i have no problems upto the point i am leaving should i worry about anything, or is there anything i should do to prevent running into a problem caused by the lift/tires/gearing?

take it for a drive of say 50-100 miles on the freeway close to home and if it feels good to YOU then go for it... shouldn't be any troubles... unless you have a jeep with troubles to start with.

You shouldnt have any problems, that gearing will just have the engine revving high on the highway so you are going to be getting alot less MPG.

4.56 gears and 35"s will be just about right. I once drove a 6" lifted Blazer with 36" tires accross southern Idaho into south Washington coast all the way into california down highway 101 and back home through Nevada. Was a blast.

Last summer I did the same with my '02 dually that has a 6" lift and 35"s on it.

Its a lot more fun then taking the Honda.

I'm 4.56's and 35's....and full width....and a 2" bumper that covers 0% of my tires....and I take it on trips like that. No problem. I don't even put mudflaps on.

I'm not as tall as you, but it looks like I'm asking for a ticket from the back

It's fine up to about 80 mph, but it really drives better at 70-75, and gets much better mileage at 65.
