Default 'rust' under window trim?

got a problem that you guys might be able to help with? - 2001 WJ export

at the bottom of the windows there is a black rubber trim - its showing bubbles etc that i'm told is caused by the metal underneath rusting

SO - how do i deal with this? - without buying new components from a main dealer?

ideally i would like to be able to remove said component and grind off the rust and treat with an anti rust treatment to stop the problem recurring

your help appreciated

thanks

If its just surface rust, i don't see a problem with just grinding off the rust and spraying it with anti-rust. Bubbling usually is just from surface rust if you can catch it fast enough. I'd say you're on the right track for fixing it.

not the exchange rate thats a problem - just greedy dealers

in the UK we can't even get Crown Automotive spares!

Jeep UK have got us by the balls and don't they know it! - and most main dealer service is shite - i'm lucky, the guy i use used to work for a main dealer and then set himself up as an independent

main dealers in the UK charge over $200 US/hour
