Default JKS adjustable control arms

I was just browsing JKS's website and came across their adjustable control arms.

They appear to be pretty beefy as well as great riding (rubber bushings both ends) and good articulation (pivots on threads). They look simular to Rusty's that seem pretty popular, but they don't use the ACME threads like Rusty's.

Anyone have these? How come I have never heard of them, must not be very many that have tried them.

They look very similar in design to Tera's arms. i.e. covered internal threads, tight high TPI on the threads, grease fittings, no lock nut. These are better than Rusty's as far as the covered high TPI thread. Although time will only tell on them lasting as far as thread wear. Good find John

Chad,

I was also thinking you could add a jum nut and lock them down on-road, then loosen the jam nut off-road. That would probably cut down on the wear conciderably.

I don't know if running a jam nut is possible. For I am not seeing any exposed threads on the JKS arms.

Chad,

After the link that pair8hd posted (Thanks ), with better pics of them, you are right, there is no threads exposed for a jamb nut.

From that review, these look to be the hot ticket for control arms today. Only time will tell how they hold up. If they are near the same quaility as their QD's and trackbars, these should be the control arm of choice.

I'm a little skeptical because of one thing, and maybe pair8hd can answer. If the Rusty's arm also articulates, why would there be binding as shown in the pictures? Is it just the finer threading of the arms that enable the JKS's to articulate without resistance?

That's what I had first thought (and thinking, "oh crap", cause I have some of Rusty's Adj. arms)...But, if you notice, they are the fixed arms he is showing....plus, he must've really put them through the test

As far as those arms, they look real nice...too bad they are so dang expensive, otherwise I'd like to try them...The Rusty's arms work good, but with the ACME thread and where it's located, there is alot of slop (read: noise that drives me crazy )....To be fair though, my bushing sleeves (the part where it goes into the arm) are worn a little, so some noise can be coming from there (sounds like the arms are loose, even though they are not)...I just put new bushings in, but they make noise as well...

BTW - is this a ripoff of the TeraFlex arms? Haven't heard too many good things about those, but I'm not sure how true those are (as a general rule)

Tell you what.. they look like they would last a loooong time if properly maintained. Greasing the threads is paramount to a piece that is subjected to that kind of load. Plus the bushings never really twist.. the CA does all the work. Sounds like a fairly reasonable investment for another 100K miles or so, eh?

I notoiced that JKS has UCA too. Would this help with some of the problems that come along with the S4W lift for the WJ? Would the UCA be a netter alternative then Claytons if the money wasnt there?
