after i went through some mud, my jeep made a whining sound off and on. is it just mud on the fan belt. it has happened before right after i went throught the mud. is there anything i can put on it to clean it off or do i just need to wait for it to come off on its own.

i fixed it. it wasnt my brakes it was the fan belt rotators that were getting a little rusty after more water got on them. i put some oil on them and it stopped. thanks though.

mud is the worst thing you can do to your truck. I see truck everyday at work and the owner is like "well i hit the mud andit started making sounds." I see more broken axels, because guys dont change the dif fluid after they hit the mud...SO if your jeep is making noises change the fluids in the axels, oil, trans, T-Case, really just change all your fuilds. Mud gets in every thing the best thing i can tell you is stay out of it. Un less you hit it on the traill at some point. But as far as just gittin muddy i would say you will have more probs then fun.

Idler pulleys suck.....on the TJ I still can't figure out why they made 2 pulleys 2 different sizes when one would have done. [smilie=bal_ask.gif]
