I painted my pitting/ ugly gold bling bling limited wheels with Rustoleum Hammered Black :

Before:

After:

Im happy with them. Wiped them down, sanded lightly, 3 coats of light gray primer, 2 light coats of Rustoleum Hammered, then 2 heavy coats. Then 3 coats of clear.

During the first 48 hours or so, the paint could be scratched off easily. After 3 days of driving though, it hardened up and is now VERY tough.

Hey has anyone painted the stock limited rim?

My rims clearcoat has pretty much given up. And needs to come off.
I was thinking of using Aircraft Remover paint remover and followed up with some mild scraping and sandpaper.

To finish it. I have 2 ideas.
All black with Gold lip ( lazy & Easy )
Or just make the Gold all Black! ( Oem looking )

I have those same rims in silver, they look really good. They would look good either flat black or completely polished with no paint. I'm leaning toward flat black for yours, mine are in good condition so color change will probably not happen.

Here's my LTD rim in a satin black... I'm going to do this to my new ZJ again. Really easy to touch up.

All look pretty dang nice for a rattle can paint job! How well do the wheels and plastic hold up against chipping though? I want to do this but I also want it to last for a reasonable period of time ya know??

I have heard good things about plasti-dip and if you don't like the color heard it is easy to remove but may want to research it more.
