Default 1995 42re Limp mode

Just recently acquired a new to me 95 ZJ with the 42re that doesn't like to shift by itself. The governor solenoid and transducer (3 pin) were both replaced. I also tried another TCU from the the same year ZJ with no change. I've also discovered that when the TCU commands the O/D solenoid to energize, the trans goes into limp mode. It will shift 1,2 and 3 hot or cold no problem. My next step is to replace the O/D and TCC solenoid assembly. Has anyone ever had those go bad? Also the O/D light does not ever illuminate and the bulb is good so I can't tell what, if any codes are stored.

Default It's alive!

*update*

I ended up replacing the O/D and TCC solenoid assembly even though I kept getting a code 21 (governor circuit). I also gave the trans temp sensor it's own ground instead of sharing it with the governor circuit. Not wanting to replace the entire trans harness I opted to use the solenoid assembly from the 42RH which has a 3 pin connector, I simply cut and spliced the 3 wires into the original harness. It's been 100 miles now, so far so good....
