I'm interested in the bracet, but am a little worried about the design. Does anyone here have this installed on their ZJ?? Have any of you used it yet?? Does it look pretty beefy?? This is not meant as any type of bashing on boonejeepin, it's just that I'd like to know how others like this before I shell out $50 + shipping.

Thanks,
Mike

I liked how the bracket looked from the pictures and from the discussion of its technical merit that occured on JU: http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/ubb/Forum42/HTML/002545.html

I haven't received my bracket yet, it should be in the run of brackets being built currently.

Received the bracket yesterday. It looks good. It is a little rough in a couple of spots but nothing that will ever show or hurt anything. One point though. Be sure you have a 1/2" drill, 1/2" and 7/16" bits to drill the holes for the tow hooks as the bracked does not come with holes predrilled.

The hardware is grade 8. The paint is pretty good.

I am toying with the idea of getting shackles instead of using hooks. I may have to weld tabs to the bracket to accomodate the shackle bolt though.

Any thoughts?

Boonejeepin, you tried shackles?

I have the bracket also, i am waiting for a new one because i got a 2" wide one, i needed a 2 1/2" wide one. It looks very strong and i also debated welding, but make sure you know how(i am guessing you do) because nobody likes flying projectiles. I am prolly gonna put it on but not for that long, getting a bumper and maybe Kevins Radiator bracket when he starts makin them

I haven't been able to update my site recently due to computer woes, but I'm actually bringing out the radiator support/tow point assembly now and pushing back the cargo rack until later this month. I should have the first three done by Wednesday. Two are spoken for.

kevin i hate to say it, but if you were onlya few months earlier in making the radiator support i would have paid u already :D but once i start making some cash i will anyways, question about the sliders, is it necessary to weld them? and how much is shipping to 01337(mass) because i need to budget(not really i will buy them anyways  )

Ok, the first three of the rad supports/tow points are complete. One goes to CA, one to UT, and I'm keeping the third one.

Grandy: Shipping is $59 everywhere in the 48 states. Not necessary to do any welding...only drilling and screwing, lol.

GreenGrandy, I just recieved my sliders from Kevin yesterday. The things are awesome, totally top notch. I HIGHLY recommend them. I got the new version of the LP1, with the round outer tube. I got about ten compliments on them just while they were sitting on the loading dock at work, all wrapped up. I plan on installing them tomorrow, weather permitting. I'll post some pics when done.

Oh, and the shipping price isn't that bad when you consider the are coming from AZ, are overweight (89lbs.), and are oversized.

I should have some up in the next two weeks, Jim. I have some on the roll that's in my camera still...and I know that I"ll go through the rest of the film in Moab. I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm still in the stoneages with my non-digital camera.
