I thought cross over steering was when the drag link went directly from the pitman arm across the front end and bolted to the passanger knuckle. Then a seperate tie rod assembly attaches the passanger knuckle to the drivers knuckle. Is this correct? Someone also said that the old full size chevy's are considered crossovers but they use a different set up that attaches the steering box to the drivers knuckle 1st. They aren't correct are they?

Those pickups have about 2.5cm of stock travel, so the pitman to knuckle connection works okay. Avoids interference probs with another horizontal link. Looks scary & impossible:

I've heard of huge drops available for tall rigs without travel but it wouldn't make sense to call it crossover unless it was:
