A mechanic I know swears that I have an 8.25" in the rear of my 94 V8. He even printed out some literature that had me thinking twice. I don't want to argue with him that it is a D35C, since he is the pro. And I don't hold it against him because he is a GM/Ford kind of guy, and can't keep up on everything out there. TIA.

Nope.... They only used the Dana 35 and Dana 44A
They are using the 8.25 in the Liberty.

Thanks. Do the diff covers on a D35 and a D35C have a different shape? That may explain it.

look at the axle identification link. Good picture of the diff covers and they are all side by side.
You probably have a 44A and he is confusing it with the 8.25
