Hi: All
I just came over today from JU. Nice board.
By the end of this year I am looking at doing the following:
Which should I do?
1- RE 4.5 lift. .. more trails
2- ARB w/ winch and regear w/ 4.10 or 4.586 and ARB lockers.. more trails, not as hard as w/ Re4.5, ARB looks cool and winch if i get stuck, regear brings me back to stock better gas, and ARB locker for better trails too.
what to do, What to do. :spank: :spank: [/b]

Well the RE 4.5 would cost you less then plan 2. If you re-gear without a lift then you will be taching the heck out of your engine since you won't be running bigger tires.
What they said!
The goal is mudding? rockcrawling? trail riding? This should dictate what you are going to do with your rig.
1st thing I would do:
1) TC case skid plate.
2) tow hooks/points front and rear
3) more aggressive and larger tires
3a) this necessitates a lift if going over a 30x9.5 tire.
3b) rocker rails so you can use your hi-lift jack which is now necessary b/c the bottle jack is too small after the lift.
4) more protection: front/rear steel bumpers
5) a locker of some sort
6) You will now be breaking stuff, so save your pennies for replacements.
7) OBA and/or quick discos
8) winch
9) New rear axle (44 or 8.8) so you can handle the 33+s you just purchased.
9a) of course you now need to regear the front 30 to match the gearing in the rear. While you are at it replace the ujoints to spicer 297X (or convert your CV jointed shafts) may need new ball joints too. Heck blow the wad and put an OX in the front too.
9b) screw the 8.8 and go with a 44 because you can OX that too!
10) Hire a good divorce atty, you'll need one to at least keep your jeep.
11) marry a rich wife
12) buy a sawzall and a mig welder, because now the sky's the limit! :D

Go with the RE 4.5!!!! Yesterday I finally ordered my RE 4.5 with all the upgrades (extreme duty trackbar and bracet, OME shocks, JKS Gen 2 Discos) and 5 32/11.50 GY MT/Rs on AR-767s !!! I can't wait.
By the way, get your stuff from Dirk at www.dpgoffroad.com He's the man and has great prices. I ordered all my lift from him.

IMHO, winches are a waste of money. I always go with other guys, I don't see the point in spending $1000 so that you can use it like once a year. If your sitting at stock height, I don't think you'll be able to get yourself into any situations requiring a winche, not to mention the fact that an ARB w/ winch on a stock ZJ not only looks stupid, but will also destroy your approach angle.
Thanks Guys. I am leaning more to the RE. 4.5 than anything else. But maybe latter The ARB w/ winch would be great!
The RE 4.5 I think is going for $1300, I would also have to exten the drive shaft. Yes or No guys. Thinking of Tom Woods , about $300. Another $ 500- $600 for install and WHALAAA
Here I come !!
All together About $2300 !!  I would see if I can regear too, about $600 + ARB lockers $700+ labor $600=$ 2600
Sorry guys , the only thing that I do to my baby is fill her up !! :cuddle:
Thanks for the help guys !!

I may be wrong, but I don't think you'll have to extend your driveshaft. I have the 249 TC and I'm not doing anything to mine. I want to see how it does so I don't buy anything I don't need. What tires are you gonna get?? Don't forget to post pics :D
