have done it a couple of times, do you mean taking the plastic facia part of, or the actual metal part behind it?
anyway to get the plastic part off remove the grille by taking out the screws hidden between the fins. There are a couple of bolts that this reveals on mine that hold down trough the facia. Next go around to each fenderwell and remove the 6 ( 3 on each side ) plastic retainers. They are along the outside front edge. Usualy just have to grab on to these with a pair of pliers and break them in half since the never seem to come out, then buy replacements at the local parts store. there are then 3 retainers under the radiator support in the middle that hold it in place as well. You shold then be able to slide the thing of the front of the vehicle.
There are a couple of places that it hooks over under the markers I think, may have to work it over them. If it is stuck you will have to remove the marker lamps, I think there is a screw at one end and then it hinges out and comes off.
Mine does not have fog lamps either, they may require removal, not shure.
Never have had the metal part of the bumper off the vehicle, can't help ya there.

Andy that was a good post on how to get the front bumper off.
As I do recall you do have to remove the marker lights to remove another clip. If I can recall correctly. :dunno:

Just get into some deep mud, the stock bumper scoops mud like a shovel and will pop right off for you.

He's definately right about this one. I've lost my bumper twice in the mud and once in a wreck. I hate those damn things.

1) Park your rig near a construction site (while they're working)
2) Walk over to talk to the site foreman
3) Wait until the machine operator hits your rig
4) Let the construction company replace it!

Worked for me

take one tab of acid, give it a couple of hours. get a chair and set 6-8 ft away from the front bumper, and it will run off all by itself.

Or put 33" tires with a 4.5" lift without trimming and let the tires do the work.

Try this link:http://www.duff.ws/grand_central/grand.htm

Go to the section about tow hooks on the bottom of the page.
It talks about installing tow hooks but also covers removing the front bumper.
