Hi have a problem with my auto-trans, I lost the 4th gear (overdrive), the transmission works well, I only lost this gear! I have two choice: try to rebuilt the trans here in Italy (very expensive and not sure result)or to buy a rebuilt one directly in USA (I'll come in USA at the end of May in Illinois).
Can someone suggest me a good dealer for rebuilt unit? an idea about the price? The GrandCherokee is a 5.2 1993, the trans should be a 46RH. Thank for the help.

You shouldn't need to replace the entire tranny. The Overdrive unit is a separate piece. I believe you can purchase them rebuilt for around $800 US.

still mess up with your autotrans?

If you're sure it's not a sensor fault, try to find the overdrive unit from a crashed car in a junk yard (there are plenty arround Brescia, and I suppose even arround Milan).

Maybe it is simple then "sneaking" one from USA to Italy (I don't think it will pass customer control as an hand baggage ;) !!!).

yes, still in trouble; but I checked the electronics, all is fine so the problem (unfortunately!) is in the trans. Tomorrow I'll try to change for the last time the oil, and I'll check for the separate OD unit, I'm not sure about...
