I have just bought an 8.8 from a 98 explorer for my 93 grand. I just wanted to know if anyone has done this and what advice they could give me. I also plan to put in a detroit and 4.55 gears.

I have not done the swap but understand that if you have rear ABS and rear disc brakes then the tone ring off your current axle will have to be machined to fit your 8.8 and bracket fabbed for the sensor.

i did the swap a while ago. if you can weld it makes things much easier. just take your time with the brackets. it was very straight forward.

That is a question that I have been to lazy to do a search on. The 8.8 exploder coil seats and track arm brackets won't work? I assume that they must not. Did you just transfer your brackets over? Did you have d35?

the explorer has leaf springs in back. you need to gring off all of the brackets and weld on the zj brackets.
yes i had a 35c before.
