Hey all, I'm taking a poll to see if there is interest in a 4x4 club. I have a online group and a question was brought up on whether we should take the next step. Let me here your thoughts.

Would this be a Grand only club or just a 4x4 club in general? I think that there are already alot of good options for clubs in Michigan, not very many are up here by me though:(. If you are serious about starting a club become a member of Great Lakes Four Wheel Drive Association (glfwda.org). They have a lot of info there (not available to a visitor) and you would probably want to get on their list of clubs anyway.

i thinkg you would do the best at it tho! :thumb: There is so many cherokee groups out there and hardly any grand cherokee group. i thought we had something going witht eh grand slam group lol

Out of the three sites I post on there has been some interest. Probibly after the holidays I'll take the plunge and start working on this idea. So keep an ear out, may be a bumpy ride but thats what were in to.

So far it looks like around 7 or 8 peeps will be at cheers. Not alot but it's always good to meet up with other jeepers. I'll have my ZJ, and I'll have my new shocks on so I won't bounce to much on my drive to GR.....lol

I dont believe we have any other peeps going tothis from the Grand Slam. But I know from many of these people from the blessing trip last year. Good people

Hey Don, maybe you could stop by my place or I could meet up with you and we could talk jeep stuff since were both in Holland. Tomorrow I'm working on my Kia though (misfire in #2 cylinder), so since I have to fix that issue I'm gonna change the oil and the timing belt and fan belt. Fun times.

i could prob stop tomorrow and bug yah while you are working :)

Ya, that was the thought Don. Kinda thinking a plain jeep club, don't really want to exclude people. I like all jeeps but my favs are the Cherokee and the Grand Cherokee.

At the meeting we had at Cheers on Saturday I let the people there know that my plans for the "club" are simple. I plan to have things basicly like they are now. We will be a internet based club using this forum as our way to get in touch with each other for get togthers and trail rides.

A club is a group of like minded people partaking in activites. We are all ready a group of like minded peeps, and many of us all ready get with each other for rides and such.....so we are a club.

Depending on how much activity we have will be the determining factor in wheither we transform into a more traditional club down the road. I'll start posting more things in this forum and we'll start having some get togthers and wrenching parties.

Don, you got a decent place to work? Which lift? I'm off this weekend, but getting some plans hammered out. Not sure on a good time yet. I really need to unhook and properly grease all my control arms too. WHen does SL open? Haven't been there in years.

i have the RC long arm kit in hand just ordered the rest from IRO, will prob be 10 days or so b4 i get it all here. I have a garage and no my jeep wont fit in it :).

I ordered 5.5in springs and new frnt/rear track bars, breaklines, BPE's, and DT8000's

Parts are all here just need to grab new motor and trans mounts, and wait for a nice weekend to get it done :)

Hope i can get-r-done by the 1st for silverlake opening....

Finally started welding parts onto my future 60 rear. Not even close to swapping yet though. Way behind schedule.

its mostly done, today im gonna finish changing ball joints and I need to flip the rear lower arms over, then i just need alignment and exhaust done...

To bad you guys are up in michigan. Could use a hand putting rear long arms and 8.8 axle in jeep along with new 231 t-case. Need to get up and do some more wheeling with you guys sometime.

would be great to get more involved as a ZJ/WJ club im so tired of all the haters and bs talkers on gl4x4, I just wanna do some wheeling and have some good memories with my family.....

Hey Don, we have a club that is trying to get started "Michigan Jeepers" but its basically an all jeeps club. I don't use gl4x4 forum much, never got a good feeling from the peeps there.

As far as ZJ/WJ groups, the gang that went to "Michigan Grand Slam" is a good bunch of guys. I was hoping to get something put together with them in Aug. I was thinking Bad Lands would be a good spot.

You could stop by my place tomorrow (only day off this week), I'm mainly working on my kia but we could always talk jeep.

Ya we definitely need to set something up to get everyone together again for some wheeling. Let me know if you guys want to hit up the badlands or somewhere else.

ya, bad lands would be awesome. im tied up with jeep blessing plans right now. after jeep blessing. we'll start planning for our 2nd annual "Grand Slam".

Hoping the jeep will be in enough shape for the blessing myself. GL4x4 isn't worth much more than the classified section.
