depends on the size and vehicle... im guessing you want one in the zj.. if you have the long overhead console that is really going to limit you in screen size because it will be so close to the back seat.

when I was installing them i always like the audiovox. there was one that the screen could come out and your could take inside and use it on a battery pack, i dont know if anyone still has those or not.

anyway, a light weight unit and a strong head liner can hold itself up there with a few tricks.. one being you cut 2 long lines in the head liner and the mounting plate weves into it, this will work well for up to about 7 inch screens.

larger ones will need some kind of perment mount, if there happnes to be a factory roof cross member and it sits in the middle of the unit that is usually strong enough if you run into issues with the edges gapping then you will want to put a board up there between the head line and roof and mount that then you will screw the player to the wood...

the older larger units like sonys and panasonic ones you would take the head liner out and mount a board between 2 crossmembers because they were so heavy the would need that much support.

today you dont see many of those because the liquid video, audiovox, jensen, other knock off brands are so cheap that it would be stupid to spend the extra money. these things do take beating and go bad quite often so depending on the cost of those warrenties it might serve you well to pick one up.

I worked at CC and i would say 1 out of every 3 would come back (and note these were the cheap brands that i spoke up, the 1500 dollar sonys wouldnt come back too often, but the cost was high and the install was a pain) if you are looking to have it installed by someone, the high cost would be 180, sale price was 100.

also, if you want it to play the audio through your radio and not just head phones expect to pay about 100 bucks more for the fm mod and install. dont trust the wireless fm mods they are garbage.
