Do you have a large stereo system?

Hey man, I have the same problem. I thought it was a bad battery because my gauge kept going down and my Jeep wouldn't start once. So I got a new red top Optima and it still does it. I go get my altinator check and they said it was good. I have a 300watt amp powering a 400watt sub but I never had a problem, even if my amp is off it still does it once in a while. Could it be a loose connection somewhere?

Its the dimmer switch on the left side of the dash. the same switch that controls your headlights. replace it and problem should be solved.

Brian - did you repalce that switch yet ? If so, I'm curious about the cost of the switch - was it new from dealer or a used one?

anyone have any ideas on the cost of this switch?

thanks

steve

Not yet, I did look at prices. E-bay wants $30.00 and your local auto parts store wants alot more $75 to $80. I would say junk yard would be your cheapest prices. I'll keep you informed.

I have had this same problem and like was stated above it is caused by the dimmer switch shorting out. Replace the switch and problem will be solved.

replace the headlight switch with a new one(not esed, will have same issue) or take it apart and clean it with brake clean. the cause is dust and dirt builds up, same as in the multi-function switch. I worked at a Dodge dealer for quite some time and ther are TSB"s on both parts. I just cleaned mine a few months ago
